Marathon Training Update

Today we scaled back to 8 miles - a recovery week. We were back at the Santa Monica location. So lucky to have the coast to walk along.
At this point, my total work outs and mileage should be higher. I’ve been doing a poor job of getting my walks in during the week. Sooner or later, I’m going to have to focus and make the time.
The new shoes are proving to be keepers. At first I was afraid I was getting hot spots (pre-blisters), but realized the new running socks I had tried were creating an unnecessary rub. I switched back to “Wright Socks” and now all is right in the world. Sports technology - love it!
In a couple weeks, our team is doing a 10K for fun. It’s a chip timed event. I’m putting my goal in writing now - 10K in 93 minutes. That’s an average pace of 15 minute miles. Should be very doable.

8 miles! Gasp! I still haven’t gotten up to running 1/8th of a mile without dying or getting side stitches. Have fun on the 10K.

Thanks, Faboo! Remember, I’m only speed walking - it’s a heck of a lot easier than jogging.
I haven’t had time to keep up w/ my blog reading - I hope you’re doing well.
