Keep on going! Over at Mother Talkers, there’s a lady who puts up her marathon training diary every week. I get tired just reading it! I swear ya’ll make me all excited that even I’m thinking of training for a marathon. Something to do before I turn 40.

Fab - you can SOOOOOOOO do it. The vibe at San Diego’s Rock-n-Roll marathon is great…. there are A LOT of walkers, and if you do it with Team-in-Training, there is a half marathon option. It’s A REALLY FUN day. I can see you there. The year you do it, please let me know so I can cheer you on.

It sounds like something that’ll make me quit smoking. Can I run and smoke at the same time? LOL…I’m thinking about it…I see the LA Marathon is coming up. From ‘86 - ‘97 I volunteered for the marathon…handing out drinks and doing registration. This year, when the billboards went up, I thought, “One year, I want to run the marathon.” Then I think, “Yeah, and you’ll be on the news. Woman dies of heart attack, aneurysm and heat stroke in Mile 1 of Los Angeles Marathon: “I don’t know what she was thinking” friends said of Los Angeles area woman who kicked off her marathon with a dozen buffalo wings and a beer.”

    Um…it could happen.

    LOL!

Good old R.Waldo once said, “The ancestor of every action is a thought.”

I have a friends back in Maryland that ran the marathon a few times and would seriously celebrate after training with beer. If I’m not mistaken one of them stopped in the MIDDLE of the event itself for a cold one! Now that’s just crazy….I miss home.
