Crisis Averted x 3 (part two): Glow Pretty

My titles are off. The three crises were fully averted already in part one. Let’s recap:

  • 1. I made a u-turn breaking out of the weight gain trend.
  • 2. I resolved to wear my trusty black wrap around to The Shindig.
  • 3. I avoided driving drunk by practicing *actual good behavior.

*What I didn’t say about #3 in my last post was that I knew my WW weigh in was the next morning. I refused to throw a week’s worth of hard earned progress away by indulging at the party. I figured that if I volunteered to drive, I’d have an invisible restraint that’d hold me back from the bar, and remaining sober would keep me away from the 3 buffet lines. Crisis averted.

Did you hear that? I-I & I and I don’t mean in the reggae sense. Let’s get this topic overwith so I can get back to less selfish topics. A wise woman said at my favorite blog, “There’s a balance to be struck, I think, between social consiousness - an enduring compassion, concern and activism that extends beyond our immediate concerns — and the perfectly legit desire to live one’s life for the sake of living one’s own life, however that may look and unfold.”
